PM Harris meets CEO of Tourism Authority, discusses ways to boost tourism of St Kitts and Nevis

During the brief meeting, CEO Thompson shared his plans and vision to advance the Federation's tourism sector with the prime minister.
Further, the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, Andrew Skerritt and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Nick Menon, have also accompanied the PM Harris, CEO Thompson, in the morning's meeting.
Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Timothy Harris is working towards reviving the economy impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the reopening of the tourism sector, hundreds have received employment, as this quarter, the industry performed exceptionally well in numbers.
Various festivals such as Carnival and St Kitts's festival fetch the attention of Tourist.
The island's tourism sector has been one of the sectors that have been worst affected due to the global outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, affecting the economy, livelihoods, public services, and opportunities.
The efforts of Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris to boost the tourism sector as Citizens and residents of the Federation are voicing their satisfaction with the response to a COVID-19 pandemic as St Kitts and Nevis is not only paving the path for tourism, but it is also making efforts to strengthen the health sector. The country is giving comprehensive training to all hospitality workers and medical staff to secure maximum safety of the people and economy.Earlier, Prime Minister Timothy Harris joined the thirty-third inter-sessional conference hosted by the CARICOM in Belize, in which they also discussed the recovery of the economy after the COVID-19 pandemic. The discussion was also based on the upliftment of the tourism sector of the Caribbean nations.
