WIC NEWS team reached out to local people of Dominica to understand their perspective where a large number of people appeared to be upset of their representative's actions, and some even agreed to talk openly about it.
Jason Isaac from Roseau Dominica stated that Lennox Linton must apologize for his actions and he should step down from his position as the Leader of Opposition and resign as Member Parliament from the Marigot constituency. "This is bad that Mr Linton is involved in an international money scam. I do not know why he has been doing this all these years, but what I can ask today is for his resignation from all official positions he holds in the government. This is time for change and UWP (United Workers Party) deserves better leadership," he asserted.
Francis Johnson stated that he is a hardcore United Workers Party supporter who is disappointed by the actions of Lennox Linton. "United Workers Party has been losing elections since 2009 under Linton's leadership. UWP is suffering and a new leader must step up to represent the party. In every general election, the winning ratio of UWP is going down."
Another Dominican resident suggested that no person is entitled to defame their country on any level and anyone trying to make such attempts must be punished at all costs. “Mr Linton cannot deny to any of the allegations made on him as many international renowned media outlets exposed his wrongdoings. What I am concerned about is that there might be a lot more scams or frauds of Lennox Linton which still are under thick cover.”
