Indian HC Telang meets PM Browne, aims to deepen relations with Antigua and Barbuda
The credentials were given by HC Amit Telang during a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office, during which he expressed his commitment towards Antigua and Barbuda and said that he is looking forward to working on different matters.

The new High Commissioner of the Republic of India to Antigua and Barbuda presented his Letters of Introduction to Prime Minister Gaston Browne on Tuesday.
The credentials were given by HC Amit Telang during a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office, during which he expressed his commitment towards Antigua and Barbuda and said that he is looking forward to working on different matters. During the introductory meeting, PM Browne expressed his gratitude to the Government of the Republic of India for their continued support to Antigua and Barbuda and the Caribbean.He also mentioned various initiatives such as the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation and the International Solar Alliance through which India is benefiting the Caribbean.
Gaston Browne also noted that there are several areas to deepen investment and trade, which will be discussed in other meetings.Meanwhile, HC Telang remarked that Antigua and Barbuda and India share warm and cordial relations. He also noted the common values being shared between both nations, such as agriculture, food security and climate change, which are among the areas of potential cooperation.
"The Government of India reaffirms its commitment to working with the Government and people of Antigua and Barbuda," outlined Amit Telang.
High Commissioner Telang also met with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Anthony Liverpool, and other senior officials whilst here.

He said, "As I presented my credentials to Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua & Barbuda, today, officially accredited as India's High Commissioner to this land of 365 days of serene beaches and sunshine, the warmth and hospitality of its people touched me."
Notably, HC Telang also visited St Kitts and Nevis to visit the leaders and assure them he will be working hard to deepen the collaboration of India with these small island nations, including Guyana, Antigua and Barbuda and St Kitts and Nevis.
During his visit to the twin island nation, he said, "With close to 500 Indians, many of them medical professionals, St Kitts and Nevis has warm and friendly relations with India."
