In 2021, more climate resilient homes would be constructed in Dominica: Dr Roosevelt Skerrit

In 2021, even more homes will be constructed all across the country." stated Dominican Prime Minister.

Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit gave an emotional speech during the handover ceremony of climate-resilient homes in Bellevue Rawle Development.

The handover ceremony of these climate-resilient homes in Bellevue Rawle Development was conducted on Wednesday.

Prime Minister stated that he knows what it is like to own a home and he is extremely happy for all 26 families who got the keys. He noted down the significance of being an owner of a home and stated that it is a fundamental requirement of each individual.

"This is a mission that we are going to continue until every family in the country is in a comfortable home. In 2021, even more, homes will be constructed all across the country." stated Dominican Prime Minister.

Furthermore, Prime Minister stated that he is working on a concept to address some special needs, "To all the people in the private sector, young professionals who want to build their homes, I am working on a concept to address your particular challenges." added Dr Skerrit.

He asserted that Dominica is a country which has no natural resources without its people, environment and water but still it is doing good despite all the challenges it faced due to several natural catastrophes.

Prime Minister also shut down the criticism that he has been receiving from certain people for helping the vulnerable of the country. "We are not giving these homes, so you have to vote for us, you don't have to vote for us because we give you a home," stated Dr Skerrit.

Dr Skerrit stated that COVID-19 is a life challenge, but we should not get demotivated because of it in our life.

Marigot Hospital Prime Minister stated that the Marigot Hospital would be completed in April 2021. This hospital has been the long demand of people of the Marigot area and was also part of the 2019 manifesto of Dominica Labour Party.
