The Governor-General of St Kitts and Nevis is in hospital after being admitted on Sunday.
Samuel Weymouth Tapley Seaton, 67, is understood to be recovering from a “mild illness”.
According to a spokesman from the Joseph N France General Hospital in Basseterre, the hospitalisation was “a precautionary measure, the illness is not life threatening, he is in good spirits, and he is expected to make a full recovery.”
No further details on the illness of the governor-general’s condition have been released.
Seaton thanked “all their good wishes and concern.”
He was visited earlier this week by Prime Minister Timothy Harris and Wendy Phipps, the minister of state.
During the visit, Seaton is said to have conveyed high commendations for the medical and nursing staff at the hospital for the “excellent care” he received.
