Four from St Kitts and Nevis makes their spot in New Year's list of Honours 2020

The British cabinet office releases 2020 New Year Honours list. In the list, four delegates from the Caribbean twin-island nation of St Kitts and Nevis have secured their place.

Mrs Josephine Huggins, Mrs Hyleeta, Dr Leroy Richardson, Dr N. Analdo bailey are among the nominees for the list that is released twice a year, once in the birthday month of Queen and at the end of the year.

Mrs Josephine Huggins will be awarded the prestigious honour of Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George (C.M.G) for Public service. Mrs Huggins is presently the Cabinet Secretary and has served as a public servant for several years in Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines including service as a customs and excise officer and assistant comptroller of income tax.

The new year honour for Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (O.B.E) to Mrs Hyleeta M Liburd M.H, B.sc(Education) for her contribution to Public Service. Mrs Liburd is presently the Deputy Governor-General for Nevis and previously served as an Educator whose career spanned over thirty-nine years of experience in the field. She is also a former Principal Education Officer, Education Officer, Headteacher, Classroom Teacher. Mrs Hyleeta has also worked as a church school teacher, youth choir director and youth fellowship leader.

Dr Leroy Richardson will be awarded as Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (M.B.E) for his contribution to the medical sector. Dr Richardson holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from City University of New York (Medger Evers College), Brooklyn New York (class on 1976). He obtained his doctor of medicine from Meharry Medical College from Nashville, USA and in 1985, Dr Richardson held a family practice residency at Morehouse School of Medicine. Since 1986, he has been working in private practice as has served as District Medical Officer from 1986-1996.

Dr N. Analdo Bailey, former Chief Executive Officer of Eastern Caribbean Institutional Banking and Financial Services, will be given the honour of Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (M.B.E) for his contribution to the banking and financial sector. He is a career banker and is the Director and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of St Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank.

Dr Bailey holds an Associates Degree in Theology from Grace Bible Institute, Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A) from the University of the West Indies and Doctor of Divinity Degree (DD) from Christ Life Seminary (USA) and a Graduate of the Haggai Institute of Leadership (Singapore). He is also Ordained Minister of the Pentecostal Church of God, Saddlers, St. Kitts.
