Dominica: Health Ministry announces test timings ahead of Carnival events

The Carnival depicts the rich heritage of Dominica and its people. This year, the organizing committee of the event has made sure that the event is celebrated under proper containment measures and health protocols are obeyed by the spectators.
According to the organizers of the Carnival, the main events will commence from February 26, 2022 (Saturday) till March 1, 2022 (Tuesday).
Ahead of the events, the health ministry of Dominica has shared testing timings as well as precautionary measures, which should be followed by the visitors to safeguard themselves from the deadly infection – SARS-CoV-2.
The Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment notified, “The general public is reminded that a valid antigen test taken no more than 24 hours in advance is required for admittance to ‘all’ Government-approved events, this Carnival season.”
Here is the testing schedule announced by the health ministry of Dominica:
February 25 (Friday)
Stadium- 8 am to 6:30 pm
Layou- 12 noon to 6:30 pm
February 27 (Sunday)
Stadium- 9 am to 1 pm
Layou- 9 am to 1 pm
February 28 (Monday)
Layou- 8 am to 12 noon
March 1 (Tuesday)
Stadium- 8 am to 12 noon
The testing would be done at the La Falaise, Adams Pharmacy and Medicus. The ministry for health further said, "to Inform the testing team that you are planning to attend the event so the appropriate card can be issued”.
The ministry further said that tests taken should not be more than 24 hours prior to the event.
According to the ministry of health, the individual willing to attend the Carnival, must bring their test results, vaccination certificate and picture ID for validation.Latest
