Jamaica now has 59 coronavirus cases after Portland man tests positive
A 43-year-old man from Portland is the person in Jamaica to have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), giving rise to the total number of confirmed cases in the island to 59.
The Ministry made the announcement of Health and Wellness in a news release on Monday afternoon.
The mode of COVID-19 transmission in the latest case is under analysis. It takes to seven number of cases under investigation while 30 are imported cases, and 22 are import-related added ministry.
So far, 32 men and 27 women have tested positive for the virus. The cases vary in age from 12 to 87 years. The average age is 50 years. However, the country has reported three COVID-19 related deaths.
