Nassau, Bahamas: A junior mechanic in his early 20s became the country's latest murder victim as he was shot dead shortly after 4 pm on Monday. According to the reports, the incident took place on Nelson Street in Yellow Elder Gardens. The police have identified the victim as 28-year-old Donavon McIntosh, and he was gunned down some foot away from where he resided.

According to the preliminary information, a small Japanese vehicle pulled up on the side of the deceased, from which a male emerged wielding a high-powered weapon. The victim was reportedly shot multiple times before his assailant, a male, fled the scene.

The victim succumbed to his injuries on the scene and was examined by Emergency Medical Services, who discovered no vital signs of life.

The crime scene was processed by the police officials who were on the site for over an hour. The officials have also launched an investigation into the murder and are looking for the suspects.

This murder has also marked the 42nd homicide of the year in the Bahamas, with the high rate of such incidents becoming a major concern for the Bahamian government.

Following the incident, the victim's father broke down in tears on the scene after seeing his son's lifeless body. "He has lived here for 28 years, and I really don't think too much about things. But he is a nice person," said his father.

He also added that Donavon helped all the neighbors, and everyone loved him, which is why he does not understand what led to his son's murder.

As the crime wave continues to spill over in the country, police officials are stressing the importance of conflict resolution.

Meanwhile, the citizens and residents have also expressed their condolences to the victim through their social media accounts.

"Oh Lord, this is so sad, man. What are we going to do in this Nassau?" wrote a user named Shanae Butler, while another user said, "Problem is guns are everywhere. So they use them at will. Prayer without works is dead. Stop the guns from coming into our great Country. Start there!"
