Two more dead because of COVID-19 in St Lucia

The Health Ministry of St Lucia has confirmed two coronavirus related deaths on Monday, which brings the total number of virus deaths to 13. Health Ministry declared that both deceased were residents of Castries districts. These two individuals were a 60-year-old male and a 63-year-old male.During a press briefing, the ministry of health also confirmed 35 new patients of the coronavirus after receiving the results from Ezra Long Laboratory. The 35 new patients are St Lucia citizens between the age groups of 12 years to 70 years. It has been revealed that these people belong to different health districts, including Castries, Micoud, Gros-Islet, Dennery, and Vieux-Fort.Arrangements are being made to place these individuals in isolation, and contact tracing is undergoing to determine any additional cases.A massive number of people are testing positive from the coronavirus in St Lucia each day. These 35 individuals were also tested when they appeared at their local health clinics after showing the symptoms of the virus. The health practitioners immediately ordered these people to isolate themselves after their swabs were taken for coronavirus testing. Besides this, the officials of the St Lucian health ministry noted that nine individuals have successfully recovered from COVID-19, and currently, there are 436 active cases of the virus while a total number of confirmed cases are over 921. St Lucia is experiencing a community-spread of the contagious virus, which is responsible for the rapidly growing coronavirus patients. People are anxious about any uncertain situations which might arrive if the circumstances are not handled properly. The government is led by Prime Minister Allen Chastanet, is making all attempts to lower the increasing number of patients, and a ban on consumption and sale of alcohol for 21 days has been imposed. However, despite all these efforts, the virus spread continues in the small Caribbean island.
