Dominica and Cuba completed 25-years of diplomatic relations
Roseau, Dominica: Dominica and Cuba have completed 25-years of diplomatic relations. The two countries share strong bilateral relations with each other. Cuban ambassador to Dominica stated on Tuesday morning that as the two countries celebrate 25 years of diplomatic relations, the countries have demonstrated what small countries can achieve under the principles of solidarity and international cooperation. Our commitment to continuing to strengthen them. In the recent parliament sitting, Prime Minister of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit had shown his support for Cuba as the country experiences severe restrictions from the United States. A motion was also passed in the Dominican parliament to show the country's support to their neighbour. On Monday, the president of the National Assembly of People's Power of the Republic of Cuba, Esteban Lazo Hernández, sent a letter of thanks, on behalf of the deputies of the Cuban parliament, to the speaker of the Dominican Parliament, Honorable Joseph Isaac.  The letter acknowledges the approval of a motion that condemns the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the US government against the Cuban people, as well as the inclusion of Cuba in the spurious and arbitrary list of countries that supposedly sponsor.  Earlier this month, a cooperation agreement to strengthen the health sector was also signed between Cuba and Dominica. The longstanding relationship between the Caribbean countries has led to many discussions and agreements on issues of mutual interests.
