"The Government of Dominica is pleased to support the team's bid to lift the Caribbean Club Championship. I congratulate the members of the South East Football Club and wish them success in the upcoming tournament," said PM Skerrit. Caribbean Club Shield The Caribbean Club Shield, also known as the CFU Club Shield, is a yearly regional football match for clubs that are members of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU). It is a second-tier contest to the Caribbean Club Championship. The league is one of the most famous football clubs in the Caribbean. It was introduced in 2018 for clubs from non-professional leagues working towards professional standards. It is currently run by CONCACAF and is well known as the CONCACAF Caribbean Club Shield. Assuming it meets the CONCACAF Regional Club Licensing standards, the winner of this competition will compete for a spot in the CONCACAF League against the Caribbean Club Championship's fourth-placed team. With the expansion of the CONCACAF Champions League beginning in the 2023–24 season, the Caribbean Club Shield will be held for the last time in 2022. Following that, the Caribbean Cup will be introduced as a CONCACAF Champions League qualification tournament for teams from the Caribbean.Latest
