PM Roosevelt Skerrit delivers keynote lecture at World Maritime University Regional Conference

Dr Roosevelt Skerrit- Prime Minister of Dominica, made the keynote lecture at the World Maritime University Regional Conference on Monday.

Dr Roosevelt Skerrit- Prime Minister of Dominica, made the keynote lecture at the World Maritime University Regional Conference on 'Identifying Regional Challenges and Opportunities to Address the Issue of Marine Debris, Sargassum, and Marine Spatial Planning.'

The conference is being hosted at the Jungle Bay Resort & & Spa in Soufriere from 4 April to 7 April.

Climate Change and Small Island Developing States,' 'Blue and Green Economic Responses,' 'Socio-economic Assessments of Marine Plastic Pollution,' and 'Sustainable Solutions for the Future, among other topics, will be discussed at the regional conference.

"Within the context of our climate resilience measures, I welcomed the focus on the conservation of our oceans and the need to conserve the profusion of life within them to ensure the socio-economic well-being of future generations," Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said.

Dr. Cleopatra Doumbia- Henry, President of the World Maritime University, led the conference. Dr Henry is a famous Dominican who previously worked at the International Labour Organization in various management roles (ILO).
