The 2017 Hurricane Maria in Dominica devastated thousands of houses leaving people homeless for a long time. The housing revolution of Dominica is targeting individuals who lost their precious homes to natural catastrophes islandwide.

Melissa Skerrit- Parliament Representative from Roseau Central constituency recently visited an elderly man who was victim of horrors caused by the Hurricane Maria.

The 70-year-old was forced to sleep in his vehicle after Hurricane Maria inflicted massive destruction leaving his home uninhabitable. But, after the housing revolution stated by the government of Dominica, the elderly man sleeps well in a hurricane proof, concrete roof safe home with his family. During the meeting of Melissa Skerrit with the beneficiary, they expressed gratitude to their parliament representative and her husband Prime Minister of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit.

“Thank you that you are always with us and for your incredible sacrifice so that we might have freedom and life, thank you for your blessings over us that you are able to bring hope through even the toughest times, strengthening us for your purposes.” said the constituent.

He further stated, “To God be the Glory, for great things He has done. Thanks a lot for your help Mrs. Skerrit, God bless you.”

Furthermore, Melissa Skerrit- Parliamentarian stated that the Dominica Labour Party kept all the promises it made to assist people affected by the natural catastrophes.
