Guests attend in-island activities as Enchanted Princess cruise stops in Dominica
Dominica welcomed the inaugural call of 'Enchanted Princess' to its shores on Sunday with thousands of guests on board.

Tourism Authorities said more cruise calls are expected in November and December 2021.
Minister of Tourism, International Transport, and Maritime Initiatives Denise Charles welcomed the captain of the Enchanted Princess. She also presented a token of appreciation to the cruise ship upon its arrival at the port.
Passengers of the Enchanted Princess were seen shopping from nearby souvenir shops. As ordered by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment, the local vendors wore face masks and followed all the coronavirus related protocols. The passengers also engaged in several in-island activities via various tours.
Through the Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives, the government of Dominica continue to promote Dominica as a safe cruise destination.
Dominica is slowly opening itself to tourism as more cruise calls arrive on the nature island.
The country is also facing an acute economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, and the regular footfall of tourists will generate some direct income for local vendors and artisans.
As the tourism season unfolds, around 274 cruise ships have already listed Dominica as a destination on their itineraries for November and December. While, the numbers are expected to increase in future.
Dominica is moving towards more sustainable methods of tourism as it aims to reduce carbon footprints. As it is known as the "Nature Isle of the Caribbean", the country has more than 365 rivers, lush green mountains, world's second largest boiling lake and more. The black sand beaches are also something that attracts travellers.
