Dominica: PM Skerrit send season greetings, ask people to be kind to each other
Prime Minister of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit sent out seasons greeting to the public in a videotaped message. He shared the message on his social media accounts, where he talked about the story of the birth of Christ.  He called on people to be kind and respectful to each other. PM also asked the public to be safe during the festive season.
"We must reach out to other people with kindness, courtesy, empathy, respect and without discrimination. As Christians and resilient people whose faith has been tested, we must maintain a positive outlook, stay focused on what lies ahead,"
PM said the government of Dominica had been focused on safeguarding livelihoods and public health through an aggressive pandemic response. He said the government acted swiftly in procuring vaccines, medical equipment and other pandemic related supplies.

"The government also cushioned the economic impact of the virus by helping small and medium-sized private sector enterprises continue their operations and very importantly sustain jobs," added the Prime Minister. The Dominican Prime Minister emphasized that the government continues to respond to people's needs with compassion and efficacy to ensure their safety and well-being. He said the current COVID-19 crisis is a reminder that the people must get back to the primary and ageless truce of love, living within the favour of the goodness of God.  "This year, when we exchange gifts with family and friends, let us be mindful that God's gift of only his only son was the most precious gift of all," added Skerrit.  He stated everyone must respect and be grateful for what they have. He also stated due to the current challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, some people are mourning the passing of their loved ones, and others are anxious about the new variants of COVID-19.
"We must place our trust in God, who is with us during any difficulty,"
Furthermore, Prime Minister also talked about climate change and said it is every person's responsibility to do their part. He said every human race is interconnected, and every challenge can be solved with unity.  Nevertheless, PM Skerrit saluted all the front-line workers for their courage and helpfulness towards the public during the pandemic.
