Workers at the top station of World's Longest Cable Car in Dominica working rapidly

The work on the world’s longest cable car project in Dominica continues with the completion of Towers 9, 16 and 17 while the progress on Tower 1 and 17 is nearing completion with the saddles being installed on them. The latest report states that a helicopter has been acquired to facilitate the movement of equipment from the Bottom Station to the Top Station.

The construction team has built two locations which will serve as helipads for the craft. The first location is at the mid station while the second one is situated at the Top Station.

The on-site construction also includes the Crane pad being successfully set up at the Top Station and soon the crane will be airlifted there using the helicopter. The team at the top station are also working on building anchor 1 and anchor 2 which will be completed this week.

The latest reports also stated that the LCS workers have started pulling the rope over the tower through the winch with the help of chopper. The winch is primarily responsible for moving the ropes with cable car (which will help in supplying the material for the LCS). This was an integral part to make sure about the smooth movement of the cables over the towers.

Meanwhile, the construction team also worked to install a staircase at the top station which will enable people to make their way around the area with ease. The workers completed this tough task on February 28 after overcoming the obstacle of heavy rain.

Other than this, the team will continue to work on the top station as the towers are being installed. This is the most significant task of the ongoing project in the Commonwealth of Dominica.

The reports also added that the prepared concrete is being transported through the helicopter which is being used to pour foundations upon which the remaining tower structures will be based.

The project which began in January 2022 is progressing at a rapid pace and is expected to be completed by the end of next year. The cable car will span 6.6 km and will be recognized as the World’s Longest Cable Car upon completion.

The project promises to provide the tourists with an exceptional experience as it will transport them from Roseau to Boiling Lake within a few minutes. Visitors can also enjoy the mesmerizing views during the 20 minutes journey in the Cable Car.

A few other updates from the construction site also include the focus of the team being shifted completely towards the completion of the top station following which they will proceed to the bottom station where a parking lot and resting area will also be constructed.

As the project progresses rapidly, it is anticipated to be completed before the predicted time and will become a major tourist hotspot in the Caribbean region.
