US continues to support St Kitts and Nevis in fight against COVID-19, says US Ambassador
US Ambassador to Barbados, Eastern Caribbean and OECS, Linda Taglialatela, said her government would continue to support St Kitts and Nevis and the region in their fight against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

St Kitts and Nevis: US Ambassador to Barbados, Eastern Caribbean and OECS, Linda Taglialatela, said her government would continue to support St Kitts and Nevis and the region in their fight against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
The latest support was the donation of an ambulance to the Ministry of Health and a passenger bus to the St Kitts and Nevis Red Cross Society (SKNRCS) of USAID (United States Agency for International Development) ceremony on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the Joseph Nathaniel France (JNF) General Hospital.
'We are committed to helping those in the Eastern Caribbean. During the pandemic, the United States worked with organizations such as IFRC [International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies] and UNICEF [United Nations International Children's Fund] to provide much-needed assistance for pandemic responses to St. Kitts and Nevis and the region,” Ambassador Taglialatela said during her virtual presentation of an ambulance and a passenger bus officially to St. Kitts and Nevis
"In this battle, the United States remains your committed partner. I am proud that our partnership is as strong as ever. By strengthening collaboration with each other, we will continue to address this moment of challenge to our healthcare systems,” she added.
Ambassador Taglialatela noted that the donations to St Kitts and Nevis would help strengthen its health care system.
'We know that this donation will help you to continue your model management of COVID-19 for the benefit of the residents of St. Kitts and Nevis. We are in this together and together we will overcome the challenges that this pandemic presents," she said.
"The ambulance will be donated to JNF to support patient transportation in St Kitts and Nevis, and the National Red Cross Society will use the bus to transport volunteers and staff to raise community awareness about virus protection."
Ambassador Taglialatela applauded St. Kitts and Nevis' government and praised the continued success of ensuring citizens and residents stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I recognize the government's significant leadership in keeping the people of St Kitts and Nevis safe during the pandemic," the ambassador said. St. Kitts and Nevis is still one of the most successful countries in the Hemisphere that limits the spread of the disease.
"I know it's costing the country's economy and its inhabitants very much, and we recognize the social and economic consequences."
She thanked health workers, civilian leaders, manufacturing workers, government officials and everyone else in the Federation 'who worked tirelessly to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
