Trinidad: Video of mother abusing her daughters surfaces online, prompting arrest

The incident was confirmed yesterday, several hours after the three-minute-long video went viral on Facebook.
Head of the Special Victims Unit, Supt Claire Guy-Alleyne, said that the children were removed from the house and were all taken for medical treatment before they were taken to the Children's Authority.The video showcased the woman arguing with a group of people who were recording her after she put down her three-year-old. The recording also showed her physically abusing her nine-year-old, who then began to scream.
As the onlookers continued to shoot her on the video, the woman argued with them and then walked to her two girls before again assaulting them as they cried out for help. It was then that the people had to intervene and rescue the children.
The sources said that the acting Sergeant Farrell and the police contingent and the Children's Authority conducted inquiries and spoke with several witnesses following the woman was immediately arrested and taken to the Barataria Police Station.Meanwhile, the citizens of San Juan, Trinidad have also expressed their anger towards the woman with some of them saying that she should be punished for her actions.
"I feelin' sorry for those kids. This not nice at all and the fact that big sister tried to help her little sis n was abused for it. Lord, keep guard over those kids and all who may be in situations like this. Parents show love to our kids and protect them," wrote a user named Chelsea, while another user wrote.Author Profile
