Body of Mr Foster as his daughter is being console by another woman
Grenada: The sudden and mysterious death of a couple almost simultaneously in the sister island of Grenada – Carriacou remains a mystery to the residents. The couple who were vacationing on the island died on L'Esterre Paradise Beach on March 9. It was reported by the police officials that their bodies were sent to the mainland on Tuesday for arrangements to have them flown back to England. The victims, David John Foster, aged 76, and his wife, Rosaline Foster, aged 77, were from the United Kingdom. The results of Monday's post-mortem examination of the British couple showed that David passed away because of broncho-aspiration and asphyxia by drowning, while his wife succumbed to asphyxia by drowning and high blood pressure.

While talking about the event, Cpl Ardell Lewis said, "The basic facts seem to suggest the man may have suffered a heart attack, and the lady may have gone to his assistance, and she probably would have drowned."

The man was pronounced dead at the southern end of Paradise Beach, while his wife passed away in the ambulance on the way to the Princess Royal Hospital.

The rare incident took place while Foster was walking along the beach back to their residence. He then suddenly collapsed, prompting his wife to rush to his assistance. The police reports added that, tragically, she also collapsed on the beach while rushing towards her partner.

The post-mortem examination has determined that the waves along the shore began striking them on their mouth and nose, which led to their deaths.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that several individuals, including their daughter rushed to their assistance but in spite of their desperate efforts, they were unable to save the foreign couple. The police also reported that Foster may have been experiencing heart complications.

Their deaths bring to four the number of visitors on vacation who have died in Grenada since the start of this year.
