St Kitts-Nevis: Two guilty of robbery and assault after retrial
Crime took place in Half Way Tree SEVEN years ago
Two men in St Kitts and Nevis have been found guilty of robbery and assault with intent to commit robbery.
Phillip Jones and Jervain Rawlins, both of Carty Pasture, Tabernacle, have been remanded in custody until sentencing, which is scheduled to take place in September.
The crimes date back to July 2010 and relate to an incident in a village shop in Half Way Tree.
The pair robbed employees of a wholesale business, taking a large sum of cash, and assaulted a customer of the village shop with the intent to rob him.
They made their escape in a vehicle that was trailed by police, before they were intercepted and arrested by two police offices.
The Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force did not provide a photo of the two men.
In a statement, the police force said: “Superintendent Diane Mills of the Crime Directorate wishes to highly commend the investigators involved in the case for their quick response, common sense approach, keen observation skills and bravery which altogether led to the capture and successful prosecution of the convicts.”
