Holi Festival has been celebrated principally since the early 1990s in St. Kitts and Nevis by the Guyanese, Trinidadians and Indian population living in the twin-island nation.

Holi- commonly known as the festival of colours, is an ancient Hindu festival, also known as the "festival of love", the "festival of colours", and the "festival of spring".

The festival glorifies the immortal and eternal love of Hindu gods Radha and Krishna. It also implies the victory of good over evil. It started and is predominantly commemorated in India but has also expanded to other regions of Asia and portions of the Western world within the diaspora from the Indian subcontinent.

Holi celebrates the arrival of spring, the end of winter, the flowering of love, and for several, it is a happy day to reach others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken connections.

The festival also celebrates the commencement of a good beginning harvest season. It lasts for a night and a day, beginning on the night of the Purnima (full moon day) happening in the Hindu calendar month of Phalguna, which falls around the middle of March in the Gregorian calendar.
