One day after news broke Tuesday that Assistant Commissioner of Police, Terrance James is being forced out of the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force and offered the post of Commissioner of Prisons, confirmation was announced by the Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris.
"ACP Terrance James will be promoted to a newly created post as the Commissioner of Correctional Services in St. Kitts-Nevis," an official statement said on Wednesday.
However, the removal of James continues to be a part of the plot by Dr Harris to pivot one of the newly appointed acting assistant commissioners to the top cop post by the end of 2019 or early in 2020.
Commissioner of Police, Ian Queeley, who is on extended leave until November, is also being forced out and could be offered a desk job in the Ministry of National Security when he meets with Prime Minister Harris on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Hilroy Brandy, who is performing the duties as Commissioner of Police, is to be retired by the end of this year, thus paving the way for the appointment of Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police, Adolph Adams as top cop.
