Missing primary school teacher’s dead body found in Jamaica, suspect in custody

Jamaica: A body believed to be that of missing school teacher, 29-year-old Danielle Anglin, was found on Monday near Salt River in Clarendon.
The discovery was made by a collaborative approach by many arms of the Jamaica Constabulary Force in a densely vegetated area in Torrington District, Salt River in Clarendon on Monday.
Through the utilization of technology and forensics, the location of the body was identified, and a suspect was also nabbed in the same case.
Anglin, a primary school teacher was reported to be missing since Monday, May 13, leaving her mother crying and searching for her everywhere. She left for work from her home t a Hellshire location. She left out for school sometime after 7 am on Monday and didn’t turned up for classes while her phone calls also went unanswered.
According to the information, a convicted sex offender has been held by police officials in the case of a missing primary school teacher. Deputy Police Commissioner Fitz Bailey said that police officers are awaiting a forensics report to officially identify the body, which was found in the Torrington district.
Bailey said that through the utilization of technology and forensics, a motor vehicle of interest was discovered, and later on, police took into custody his driver. He also noted that the police believe that she was killed the same day when she disappeared and was picked up by the suspect.
The police officer also reported that the suspect was earlier charged in Jamaica in 2015 for sexual offenses and was also convicted in Antigua and Barbuda for sex crimes, following which he was deported to Jamaica.
The police said that they knew that they had the right person in custody, and he would be charged soon upon confirmation of the crime.
The investigative team included the St Andrew South Criminal Investigation Branch, the Communication Forensics and Cybercrimes Division (CFCD), the Scenes of Crime, and the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
