Melissa Skerrit proposes construction of multi-facility at Scout & Girl Guides Association

“Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit joined the Parliamentary Representative of the Roseau Central Constituency, Melissa Skerrit, earlier today, for an on-site meeting with leaders of the Dominica National Scout Association and the Girl Guides Association of Dominica,” government of Dominica said.
The Parliamentary Representative of Roseau Central stated that multi-purpose facility would be constructed. Melissa Skerrit further purposed the constructions of the old Scouts/Girl Guides on High street and new houses for the association members.
“The Roseau Central MP has proposed the construction of a multi-purpose facility on the site of the old Scouts/Girl Guides Centre on High Street to house new offices for the associations,” stated the Dominica government.
After the construction of the proposed facility it would provide “space for a wood workshop and other skills training programmes, arts and craft workshop and also serve as a costume design and construction hub.”
Prime Minister Skerrit and Melissa Skerrit also stopped at the former Dominica Club on High Street, where Government proposed the reconstruction of the tennis courts, including other initiatives bring economic activity to the area.This proposed idea was welcomed by the residents of the Dominica and they praised the administration for taking steps for the betterment of the residents.
While praising the government, one of the residents said, “Boy Scouts and Girl Guides help to keep the youth occupied and focused and away from undesired behaviour”. Yet another stated, “That's what you call a part rep. Transformation in the city of Roseau. Great initiative.”
The third one mentioned, “Another powerful initiative. The Scouts and Guides movement is very important in the formation of our young men and women.”
