Jamaica: 55-year-old found dead at her residence in St Ann

Jamaica: A Decomposed body of a 55-year-old woman named Gwendolyn Thomas was found at her house in Cave Valley, St Ann, on Friday. On encountering the incident at 2:20 PM, the community residents stumbled upon the body and called the Police immediately.Reportedly, Gwendolyn Thomas, aka Pamela, is a resident of Bottom Cascade district, Borobridge, in the St Ann parish. When the Police arrived at the spot, the decomposing body was seen lying face down in a house.The officials started their investigation in the meantime and collected several pieces of evidence from the residents who witnessed the body. However, the actual cause of her death is not clear yet and is still a mystery.The scene was processed, and the body was taken to the morgue. Further, the residents at the St Ann were shocked and dismayed at her sudden death.During a recent negotiation with the police officials, they also extended their sadness and were seen shaken by the incident. A resident from the nearby area, Evelyn Downer, said she hoped Thomas was not murdered."It's just funny to say they found her body decomposing; that means she might have died sometime now. I am praying that she wasn't murdered because this is not a violent community," she said.Further, She also expressed that she hoped Thomas would have shared a closer relationship with the residents in the area."I mean, if someone had gone to check on her sooner, it probably wouldn't have reached the stage where her body is decomposing. It's just very awful to know that someone begins to rot after dying before they are found," she stated.
