The John Cupid Village Carnival is integral to strategic efforts to promote Trinidad and Tobago culture worldwide. It also aimed at providing economic opportunities for local practitioners and small-scale entrepreneurs. The Carnival is hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts. Randall Mitchel, the Minister of Tourism, noted that the Carnival is a unique space to immerse visitors into the nation's richness and culture.
