First Deputy Political Leader of the Saint Lucia Labor Party (SLP) and Castries South MP Dr Ernest Hilaire addressed to Dominican public in an offer to urge Dominicans to decide in favor of Roosevelt Skerrit and the Dominica Labor Party when they head to the elections on Friday, December 6 2019.

Hilaire compared Saint Lucia for instance saying when the SLP lost the 2016 general elections to the United Workers Party, they engaged with corruption and vandalism, particularly towards supporters of the SLP.

"We had a short term employment program, they state they will make it longterm and they tricked the individuals," Hilaire said.

"What did we end up with? The most corrupt government in Island of Saint Lucia. The most pernicious government in Saint Lucia and that is what will occur in Dominica in the event that you ever vote the United Workers Party."

Dominicans staged dissent activity at some parts of the island, requesting electoral change to guarantee free and reasonable elections.

Riot police launched tear gas canisters and rubber bullets at dissidents few days ago, the vast majority of protestors were connected to United Workers Party.

The protesters are irate that the island of 72,000 is going into another election cycle without changes of the electoral reforms and fears that if the UWP participates in the elections, it could, truth be told, stay on opposition seats for an additional five years.

"Siblings and sisters!" Hilaire called upon, "About Friday, get out to cast your vote. You see all the bacchanal, all the commotion will amount to nothing on the off chance that you don't turn out to cast a a vote in favour of DLP."

"You know why all that burning is occurring? They need dread and they need outrage and they need individuals to remain at home, yet their kin will turn out to cast a vote and UWP will lose," Hillaire said.

PM Roosevelt Skerrit's Dominica Labor Party is looking for a fifth sequential five-year term and has called a snap political decision, planning to capitalize on the accomplishment of the reconstruction of the island's infrastructure after the destruction from Hurricane Maria in late 2017 and Tropical Storm Erika in 2015.
