Caribbean Airlines has announced an expansion of its route network by launching a new service to Puerto Rico. This service will connect Trinidad, Barbados, and San Juan and will begin on July 14, 2024.
According to the information, this strategic addition will see the airline operating flights thrice a week from Trinidad. The company will provide convenient connections through Barbados to other destinations across the Caribbean region.
The schedule of the new Caribbean Airlines service to San Juan from July 14 is as follows:
Thursday, Friday, Sunday – Flight number BW290 will fly from Trinidad to Barbados. It will depart at 2:15 pm and will arrive at 3:15 pm. The same flight will from Barbados at 4:30 pm and will arrive in San Juan at 7:10 pm.
Monday, Wednesday, Saturday – Flight number BW291 will fly from San Juan to Barbados with the departure time being 10:10 am and the arrival time being 12:35 pm. The flight will depart from Barbados at 1:20 pm and will arrive in Trinidad at 2:20 pm.
The airline said that cargo services would also be available for this new service. While announcing the development, Caribbean Airlines said that service to San Juan, Puerto Rico, will be open for reservation from May 2.
The airline called on the people looking to travel from Trinidad or Barbados to book their flights through company’s website, reservations sales call centre, ticket offices as well as travel agents.
Caribbean Airlines said that this expansion of services aligns with its broader growth strategy and marks its commitment to providing enhanced connectivity within the region.
Meanwhile, the CEO of the Caribbean Airlines, Garvin Medera said that the company is excited to expand its passenger and cargo services to San Juan, Puerto Rico as part of their ongoing effort to better connect the whole region.
He also said that this move is important to the growth strategy and represents their commitment to offering customers convenient and reliable travel and trade options.

Another user named Bella suggested, “What about the Dominican Republic? You should have at least 2 flights per week. More people go to Puerto Plata and Punta Cana than Puerto Rico.”
