Jamaica: A businessman from Jamaica is charged with allegedly holding a taxi driver at gunpoint. The 25 years old businessman forced a taxi operator at gunpoint to wait while he and his associates burnt an object wrapped in tarpaulin.

The reports stated that it was about 8:20 pm, when Kamal McDonald chartered a man’s taxi and instructed him to take him and several other persons to another section of St Catherine.

The police officials narrated the story, and mentioned that when a taxi operator stopped the car, the man disembarked and removed the wrapped tarpaulin from the trunk. McDonald then allegedly brandished a firearm, pointed it at the taxi driver and ordered him not to move.

With such a command made to the taxi driver, a businessman threatened him with a gunpoint. The deep investigations on this are being undertaken by the police officials which surely would take to certain of the results.

Following all the investigations, Mc Donald was removed from a flight and taken into custody on June 7. The police also mentioned that with his permission, they reviewed their phone and found it contained personal information of the persons living overseas.

Such found data raised the concerns that those people as well might be involved in all the criminal activities. And, the suspect further was charged on Saturday with an assault at common law, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of identity information.

Considerably, the police announced that a court date is being arranged for him, so justice could be done to the taxi driver. And, the businessman could get the punishment for the wrongful things he has done.

In Jamaica, crime rate has followed a decline from the past years. Earlier, it was increasing with a rapid speed. However, the positive change have come into light at the current times which stated a significant decrease.
