A confrontation quickly turns into a shooting incident outside of a retail establishment in rural Belize on Saturday. Police reports indicate that sometime after four o’clock in evening, twenty-two-year-old mechanic, Emmanuel Samuels and Norman Slusher were at the D and D Shop when they were approached by two individuals.
The two persons were identified as Mervin McDonald and Filbert Usher, who Samuels had previous problems with. Slusher confronted the two men about rumours that they wanted to kill him.
An argument ensued, resulting in Usher taking out a firearm from the waist of his pants and pointing it at their direction. Usher then approached Samuels and hit him with the firearm on his face.
Fearing for their lives, Slusher and Samuels boarded a blue Kia Sorento in an attempt to flee the scene. During that time, Usher handed over the firearm to McDonald, who was standing on the left side of the vehicle. He pointed the firearm in their direction and fired several shots at them, hitting the left passenger glass window. Slusher and Samuels went to the Dangriga Police Station to file a complaint. The matter is currently under investigation.Author Profile
