India has a history of discrimination on the basis of race, caste, gender and colour. The intolerance in the local society has been leading to disputes, whether they are communal or social.
A recent occurrence in the country left everyone speechless, where a homosexual murdered his entire family because they didn't approve of his sexuality and wanted him to become "straight". As per the Indian media, a 20-year-old boy from the state of Haryana murdered his entire family. Initially, police had suspected a foul-play, but the boy kept on changing his statements, leading to suspicion. In the first statement after being captured, the boy said he murdered his father, mother, sister and grandmother because he wanted to be the sole heir of the property in the Rohtak City situated in the State of Haryana, India.

The murderer, a 20-year-old boy, named Abhishek told police that he was dating a boy named Kartik, and his father discovered their homosexual relationship. His father, Pradeep Malik, was a local realtor who did not approve of his son's sexual preferences.
Following that, Pardeep Malik grounded his son Abhishek and stopped giving him any financial support. Not only that, but he also changed the legal documents and named his daughter Neha the sole heiress of the entire property.
As per the police, Abhishek was unhappy with his father's behaviour, and on August 28, 2021, he decided to kill his father and sister. Police said that the accused told in a statement that he didn't want to shoot down his mother and grandmother, but he had to because they were the witness to the incident.
Even though LGBTQ types of relationships were made legal by the Supreme Court of India three years ago, the old fashioned Indian society is totally against such connections.
