Police in St Lucia have a full case load after shooting incidents left two men dead and one injured over the weekend.

In the early hours of Saturday a double murder was reported in La Clery, Castries.

Although police are yet to confirm the victims’ identities they have been named locally as David Khodra, 28, and 25-year-old Shane Augustin.

Both men were believed to have been on a motorcycle, and WIC News understands that it was initially thought their deaths were due to a vehicle accident.

When police arrived on the scene they discovered the victims had received multiple gunshot wounds.

Both were taken to Victoria Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Second St Lucia shooting

The number of murders in St Lucia this year is now at 37.

Around 12 hours after the double shooting, the Royal Police Force of St Lucia received reports of gunshots in Riverside Road, Castries.

A man suffered a bullet wound to his lower leg and has been admitted to hospital. He is said to be in a stable condition.

Officials have not ruled out a link between the two incidents, but as yet there is no evidence to suggest they are related.
