A four-month-old infant from Jamaica is fighting for his life and has already undergone eight surgeries since his birth. The baby named Rovaire Shirley was born with spina bifida and his mother is urging everyone to help her for the boy’s medical bills.

According to the information, the condition is affecting the spine of the infant and is resulting in serious damage to the spinal cord as well as nerves.

The mother described her son as ‘Fighter’ and said that the family is going through a tough time as the baby is going through surgeries one after another.

A source said that soon after Rovaire was born, doctors at the Bustamante Hospital for Children in Jamaica performed corrective surgery but later found that he had hydrocephalus which meant that he had too much fluid in the brain and the spinal cord, resulting in the need of another emergency surgery.

Moreover, it is being said that the baby needed a shunt which is a hollow tube that is surgically placed in the brain to help drain cerebrospinal fluid and redirect it to another area in the body.

The 25 year old mother, Vanessa Dixon, said that the cost of this equipment was over $100,000 but after placing it in the body, the infant’s health became more serious.

As the family hopes for a miracle, they are seeking for help from the general public to come forward and assist them in covering the medical bills of fighter.

She added that the baby needs to undergo therapy thrice a week with each session costing around $15,000. “I am just seeking assistance for the therapy so that the child can be able to move around,” outlined Dixon.

According to the information, people who are willing to assist the family can reach out to Vanessa Dixon by calling at 876-209-1829.

Meanwhile, the social media users have expressed their support to the child and wished for his speedy recovery.

“Never give up Rovaire mommy help is on the way God is working out a miracle for you touch him Lord,” wrote a user named Janet Tucker while another user said, “Almighty God please lay your healing hands on this infant.”
