He stated that as the Foreign Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, he was sought out for interviews and engagements globally.
"That spoke eloquently to the high regard that the world has for St Kitts and Nevis and also for the standing of our Foreign Ministry that we were sought after to share views with a global audience as to the issues impacting our world," said Brantley.Recalling the UN General Assembly 2021 in New York for, Brantley stated that he was not allowed to speak in the UN General Assembly Hall on behalf of St Kitts and Nevis as Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris preferred to do the national statement via video from Basseterre to an empty UNGA hall on a Friday night.
"I confess that not even I remember what he said. Notwithstanding the petty efforts to undermine me as Foreign Minister, I was invited to speak to a global audience on the immensely popular Gravitas on WION with host Palki Sharma and took the message of St Kitts and Nevis to the world. Reflect with me that I did not seek out Gravitas. Gravitas reached out to me," added Brantley.
He stated that as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, he always represented St Kitts and Nevis on global stages.
"It, therefore, meant that the smallest country in the Hemisphere was specifically asked to go on to this global stage to represent itself, our Caribbean region and small developing states globally. Once again, we were the voice of our region. This, my brothers and sisters, is what real representation looks like. God bless St Kitts and Nevis," stated Brantley.Latest
