Several ministers and vice ministers from the Caribbean and Latin America are participating in the conference being held at Farnesina in collaboration with the Italy-Latin American Institute (ILAI) in Rome. The Institute was established in 1966 to promote and encourage relations between Italy and Latin America. On Monday, a special event was held to open the conference, while the full discussions on the conference will start on Tuesday morning with an opening plenary session. The Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Di Maio will also take part in the session. After completion of the plenary session, the discussions will open in three interactive theme panels. The participating countries are expected to discuss focus areas of the G20's aims in terms of relaunching three areas, namely "People, Planet and Prosperity". Italy's presence in the Latin American region is noticeable as many people of Italian origin reside in Venezuela, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, Peru and Chile.Latest
