Two police constables among four others charged for robbery in Jamaica
Police have detained and charged four people in connection with an alleged attempt to loot a pub in Jamaica. The suspects include two police officers.

Constable Daenard Meikle, 35, of Banbury area in Clarendon, and Christoph Campbell, 27, of Fernando Road in Bridgeport, St Catherine, have been identified as the two officers involved.

Odarie Frazer, 22, and Rushawn Alvaranga, 20, both of whom work as sellers on Orange Street in Kingston, are the other two males charged.

Following an incident on Windward Road in Kingston on December 29, the males were charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, breach of the Disaster Risk Management Act, attempted shop-breaking and conspiracy to do shop-breaking, as well as conspiracy to commit shop-breaking.

According to reports from the Elletson Road police, Meikle, Campbell, Frazer, and Alvaranga planned with two other men who have only been identified as 'Finger' and 'Elder' to loot a bar on the night of the robbery.

Frazer and Alvaranga are said to have followed 'Finger' to a spot where he proceeded to cut the primary padlock on the grille of a bar, while Meikle and Campbell stood guard nearby. An intrepid group of police officers, on the other hand, foiled their schemes. 'Finger' managed to get away in a Nissan AD Wagon that had been parked close by.

Meikle and Campbell were detained in a Toyota Wish vehicle. A Taurus pistol with a magazine containing ten 9mm cartridges was discovered in Campbell's possession when they were searched.

A Glock 9mm pistol with a magazine containing nineteen cartridges was discovered in Meikle's possession. It was revealed that two more magazines totalling 35 cartridges had been hidden. Their court appearances are still to be scheduled.
