Tobago: Young couple dead, 2 injured in a brutal car accident

Trinidad and Tobago: A young couple lost their lives in the first tragic road accident in Tobago on Sunday. As per reports, their car r crashed along the Claude Noel Highway, and both the victims succumbed to their injuries.

Police identified the couple as Sherman Thomas and Kareem Thom. The police officials reported that the couple, along with two other occupants, one of them a baby, were travelling east along the highway in their white Tiida car.

Following midnight, Thom lost control of his vehicle, causing it to hit a railing before wrapping around a large tree just off the street. The video of their car has gone viral on social media, which showed Thom's body thrown several feet away from the car.

His body was seen in a bushy area around the highway. The video also showed several individuals trying to help the victims in the rain as an ambulance siren was heard in the distance.

The police reported that the other occupants, a woman and a three-year-old, were immediately rushed to the Scarborough General Hospital for emergency treatment.

The woman got a fractured forearm and fractured leg, while the child sustained a hairline fracture in the skull.

Sherma Thomas was an employee of the Tobago Regional Health Authority, and Thom was a Sunshine truck driver. Both of them were reported deceased by the medical professionals on the spot.

Several people on social media have expressed their condolences to the young male and female who lost their lives in this fatal accident.

"As I cry for a good soul, I will always remember how quiet and nice young man u were," wrote a user named Maria Holder, while another user, Lenox John, said, "So sad! Condolences to her family. May my nephew and his aunt rest in eternal peace. Till we meet again."
