Public not allowed to visit tourist attractions as Celebrity Equinox to dock at Port Zante today

St Kitts and Nevis is expecting a Celebrity Equinox cruise ship on Tuesday; it will dock at the famous Port Zante.

St Kitts and Nevis Tourism Authority and the COVID-19 Task Force checking all the management at Port Zante on Monday 13 September 2021.

The COVID-19 pandemic destroyed the tourism industry; the sector faced billions of dollars of losses, and many people lost their jobs. The Caribbean region relies on tourism for financial and economic support; the closure impacted the overall upliftment of the island countries. But, it is now slowly coming back to life.

St Kitts and Nevis is expecting a Celebrity Equinox cruise ship on Tuesday; it will dock at the famous Port Zante. To keep the guests and the general public safe, the authorities made certain limitations. St Kitts and Nevis Tourism Authority and the COVID-19 Task Force are working hard to secure Port Zante. The general public will not be permitted to visit specific locations from 6 am to 6 pm as cruise-ship passengers will be visiting the tourist locations.

The General Public is not permitted to access the following attraction sites from 6 am to 6 pm:

• Port Zante

• Brimstone Hill Fortress and National Park

• Carambola Beach Club

• Caribelle Batik

• St Kitts Scenic Railway

• Fairview Great House

• Palms Court Garden

The authorities asked the people to cooperate as it is clearly to safeguard them from the contagious coronavirus. Authorities said visitors will be travelling within a bubble and won't be allowed to roam around on the streets of Basseterre. Tour operators are only allowed to carry the passengers from dispatching site directly to the attraction and then back to the ship.
