Lennox Linton joins Choksi amid court hearing; lawyer violates court orders

Dominica: In a stunning twist, Dominica Leader of Opposition Lennox Linton after denying his association with Chetan Choksi, joined Mehul Choksi's cousin Chetan Choksi amid court hearing inside the courtroom from 9 am to 2 pm, local media reported. India based Republic media and Associates Times revealed that opposition leader Lennox Linton was seen in close proximity with Chetan Choksi and allegedly they both were in conversations during the hearing inside the courtroom. Lennox Linton who denied all the allegations of taking bribe from Chetan Choksi reached the High court to find resorts to halt Mehul Choksi’s extradition from Dominica. Choksi, who owes over the US $2 billion to India might have reported to be in agreement with leaders of the opposition of Antigua and Barbuda, and Dominica to support him till he reaches his safe house in Antigua and Barbuda. Chetan Choksi is also facing trial in a US $25 million fraud case, allegedly gave $300,000 token money to Lennox Linton for his support in the parliament and in media handling. Lennox Linton, who has a long history in money laundering, openly supports an international fugitive.

Mostly, politicians keep a good space from the criminals, fugitives or any other persons involved in illegal business, but this is unheard of that Leader of Opposition has reached inside the courtroom and openly supported Mehul Choksi in his fight against extradition to India.

Similarly, local media also revealed that an Indian origin lawyer of Mehul Choksi, named Vijay Aggarwal, continuously appears in specialised interviews with media outlets uprooting several theories to mishandle the case, which is smear violation of court orders. Court of Justice in Dominica had earlier ordered a gag in the Habeas Corpus petition, which outlines that no lawyer representing Mehul Choksi would communicate with media or press.

However, the Dominica court adjourned the Habeas Corpus plea till Thursday and the government of Dominica has said that they do not have any issues if Mehul Choksi is deported to India rather than Antigua and Barbuda.

Following the charges of illegal entry into Dominica, Mehul Choksi reached the Dominica court on Wednesday afternoon.
