John Salidvar asks Patrick Faber to step down as leader of opposition
John Birchman Saldivar- a member of the United Democratic Party Belize, stated that he would not be the next leader of the United Democratic Party, and neither will be Shyne Barrow. He also asked Patrick Faber to step down as the leader of UDP and the leader of Opposition of Belize.

Saldivar stated that the current sad situation in the UDP is not about Shyne Barrow nor about himself, but it's about Patrick Faber and his fitness to lead the Party and country.

"There are those who are prepared to once again pardon his behaviour those who are prepared to once again pardon his behaviour, and that is their right, but for you UDPs who want to hate on those of us who will have no more of it, your double standard is hypocritical."

"You are the very same ones who were joyful when I was asked to step down as Leader-elect because of a false, unproven narrative that was being pushed from within my own Party," stated John Birchman Saldivar.

He said no evidence has ever emerged to prove that he did something wrong in accepting campaign financing from Lev Dermen.

"And if you say that my sin was not coming forward and disclosing that I had received monies in a system where disclosure is not required, then how does that measure up in your system of right and wrong compared to consistent allegations of gender-based violence and disrespect towards women," emphasized Saldivar.

He said no Court evidence was required in his instance to ask him to step aside then; why is that required now. Saldivar said he cringes some prominent women in his party excuses this behaviour.

"I boil when I see some of the men in my Party who are guilty of worse behaviour towards women stand in support of this man. They have now vowed to expel every person who has dared to speak up against this behavior." Saldivar asserted.

He said Patrick is not his friend because he (Patrick) made that very counselling in front of all his behaviour colleagues last year.

"What I say to him now is not as a friend but as a man who loves his Party. Step down, Patrick, don't put our Party through this, seek counseling for your aggressit's behaviour towards women, live to fight another day as I have done. Hopefully, your good sense and love of Party will prevail. We cannot survive under your leadership. The damage is done, and its your own damn fault." said John Birchman Saldivar- a member of the United Democratic Party.
