Hanover, Jamaica: The police officials in Jamaica have launched an investigation into the murder of a farmer whose dead body was found in a pig pen. The discovery was made on Tuesday in Logwood district, Hanover.
According to the information, the deceased, 25-year-old Jamar Miles also known as ‘Buss Head’ was found dead by residents who launched a manhunt after he went missing.
The reports revealed that around 6 am on Tuesday, Miles left his home to attend his animals on a farm nearby and after a short time, the residents heard sounds of explosion but did not bother to check or even report to the police.
The victim’s girlfriend tried contacting him several times through the phone but became concerned when he did not call back and did not even come back home at his usual time. She said that all her calls were going to voice mail.
Reportedly, around 1 pm, the residents started looking for him at his pig farm and found his body lying face down inside one of the pig pen.
Following the discovery, the residents called the police officials, who found Miles in a pool of blood covered in a white t-shirt, blue jean shorts, along with a pair of water boots. The police said that the victim had what appeared to be several gunshot wounds to his torso.
The dead body was subsequently transferred to the Noel Holmes Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Meanwhile, during investigations, the police said that they recovered 15 spent casings from the scene while no motive has been yet established for the murder.
On the other hand, the netizens have expressed their concerns over the major surge in shooting incidents in Jamaica. “The killing of young farmers can not continue. It have to stop,” wrote a user named Denny Brown while another user said, “More than 15 gunshots fired, and no one bothered to call the police ok then.”
