The acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry declared at the UN Assembly that the migration of people from Haiti would continue. He said migrants would continue to move to more prosperous countries despite disturbing images of Haitians being detained upon their arrival in the United States.

"Over the past few days, the images of the treatment of several of my countrymen on the borders between Mexico and the US have outraged everyone," PM Ariel Henry declared in a pre-recorded video speech.

'Without denying the right of a sovereign state to control the entry of foreigners into its territory or to send back those who enter it illegally to our country of origin, we believe that many prosperous countries are built by successive waves of migrants and refugees," he added.

Thousands of migrants, the majority of them Haitian, arrived in Del Rio, Texas, at the beginning of September.

Violent scenes of US border guards on horseback confronting the migrants this week have drawn widespread criticism of Joe Biden's administration.

"This problem of migrants should remind us that people, fathers and mothers, will always escape misery and conflict and try to find more suitable living conditions for their children," Henry stated.

"Migration will continue as long as there are prosperous areas on our planet, while the majority of the world population is in danger, sometimes extreme, living without the prospect of a better life," he added.

All the migrant shelters from under a bridge in Del Rio, Mexico, were removed by the US Border Forces. Many people were sent back to Haiti via back to back deportation flights, while over 15,000 were given a chance to defend their cases to gain refugee status in the US.

Over six flights departed from Texas to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, while many others were scheduled for the weekend.

Thousands of Haitian migrants dreaming of a better future and basic amenities walked across 11 countries to reach the US Borders, from where they were thrashed back.
