Over 3543 people recovers from COVID-19 in Dominica
The Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment of Dominica released COVID-19 related statistics on Sunday.

The Ministry noted that over 3543 people successfully recorded from coronavirus in Dominica to date, and there are now only 451 active cases left.
Dominica also witnessed 26 coronavirus related deaths. The first virus-related death was recorded in August 2021. Over 4020 people have tested positive in Dominica since the first case was detected in March 2020.
The severe coronavirus related outbreak in Dominica happened after hundreds gathered at the LOT event in Pottersville on 25th July.The outbreak resulted in more extensive vaccination drives; more than 21,871 are fully vaccinated, while around 26,603 received the first dose.
Recently, Dr Shalauddin Ahmed, National Epidemiologist, stated that 93% of coronavirus related deaths in Dominica are unvaccinated individuals. Authorities continue to encourage people to get themselves vaccinated after new variants of the virus were detected in the country.
The Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment advised the public to adhere to coronavirus related guidelines, wear a face mask in public, follow social distancing and, most importantly, get vaccinated.
Any person with flu-like symptoms is advised to remain home and call on COVID-19 hotline numbers. Such persons are tested at their residences and recommended to stay in isolation until their test results arrive.
