WATCH: Dominica PM Roosevelt Skerrit address ahead of TS Beryl
Dominica news from West Indies and Caribbean News
The prime minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, has addressed the nation ahead of the passage of Tropical Storm Beryl.
At the time of publication the weather system has weakened but the island remains under a tropical storm watch.
Beryl could bring showers and thunderstorms to the island, which could lead to flooding and landslides. Strong gusts of winds could also cause issues.
Residents have been advised to keep informed on the progress of this system and preparations should by now be completed or rushed to completion.
The island was ravaged by Hurricane Maria less than a year ago, and has still not fully recovered from the damage caused by Tropical Storm Erica in 2015.
