Trinidadian Terri Lyons retains Queen of Queens title 2023

Terri Lyons of Trinidad and Tobago retains the title of the Queen of Queens Regional Female Calypso Competition 2023 with 820 points. The pageant was held in Carnival City, Montserrat, on December 30.

The first runner-up position was also bagged by a Trinidadian named Kerine Figaro. She secured a total of 802 points and was followed by Barbadian Chrystal Holder who got 801 points.

All the performers at the competition were asked to perform two songs each from which the judgement was made.

Terri Lyons performed 'House Cleaning' and 'Calypso' and retained her crown and title of the Queen of Queens. Notably, she is the most versatile and dynamic calypso queen of the region.

The first position holder, Figaro, sang 'To You With Love' and 'Fruits Aint Ripe Yet' while Chrystal Holder performed 'De Rescue' and 'Check De Scene'.

Following the competition, Kerine Figaro also took to Facebook and said, "In all things, I give God praise. What an experience! What a joy it is to be able to use my talent and continue to grow as an artiste. I placed 2nd in the Regional Queens of Queens in only my first time participating.

"I went there and gave flowers and told them how the fruits were not ripe yet! Thank you to everyone for your love and support," she added and also congratulated the winner, Lyons, for bringing the trophy back home.

11 contestants from all across the Caribbean region competed in the show, including St Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Lucia, Montserrat, Trinidad and Tobago, Anguilla, St Maarten and Barbados. The participants were as follows:
