Prime Minister of Dominica- Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit, recently stated on a national radio station that there are twelve coronavirus cases in the country.
As per the Prime Minister, all of these active cases are currently observing quarantine and are placed in the COVID-19 facility in Portsmouth, Dominica.Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit stated that all necessary support and medical assistance is put in place to assure that country is equipped with c
"As of this time, we have 12 active cases in the country, and every one of these active cases is at the separation unit in Portsmouth, and we continue to give the necessary support," noted the Dominican Prime Minister.
Dr. Skerrit mentioned that as the entire world is grappling with the severe conditions resulted from the coronavirus, it is significant that Dominica budgets for any uncertain situation."We have to continue to plan and evaluate our plans, review policies that we have put in place to ensure that as far as practically possible," emphasized Prime Minister Skerrit.
Dominican Prime Minister stated that despite the lower number of coronavirus cases, it is vital for all citizens to wear face masks and follow the health department's protocols concerning respiratory hygiene.He pointed out that the well-being and safety of citizens in the current situation is paramount.
"We have to proceed in dealing with it. Of course, it's going to continue to affect tourism, because people are not treated to travel in the numbers that they would like to because of all the limitations from their own countries and of course within the field," the Prime Minister noted.
