NWC customers in arrears get 30% discount

The National Water Commission (NWC) is giving a 30 per cent discount to residential and condominium customers who are in arrears for more than 90 days.
The NWC stated that the move is part of its efforts to support customers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
In Online press conference on Wednesday, the NWC told that some 31,000 customers would directly benefit from the drive which will last for a period of three months to July 31. The NWC has also dismissed late payment and reconnection fees over the period.
President and CEO of the NWC, Mark Barnett, said, "We consider that this wave is second to none during the COVID period, where we are serving our customers to survive the pandemic; helping our customers to overcome the fear of not having the service."
"Although we too are facing our share of economic challenges due to COVID-19, we are not dimmed to the demands of the vulnerable," Barnett continued. "We believe that this is an opportunity to keep our revenue flowing as well as provide well needed financial support to our customers."
