Nevis unveils proposed plans for expansion of Vance W Amory Intl Airport
Through a Facebook post, the NIA shared glimpses of the project, which had been laid out before the expansion.

While sharing the glimpses of the proposed plan, the NIA said that as the air travel continues to evolve, the administration’s goal is to create an airport which not only meets current needs but also anticipates and adapts to future demands.
Notably, this expansion project is the result of careful planning, collaboration, and innovation aimed at enhancing the overall passenger experience, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring sustainability. The planned Vance W Amory International Airport plan showed the anticipated airport tower, frontal view fire station, frontal view, and aerial view of the runway.[caption id="attachment_69374" align="aligncenter" width="100%"]
The glimpses were shared after a meeting held on Thursday during which the proposed plans for the upgrade and expansion of the Vance W. Amory International Airport was presented.
While announcing the plan, the Special Advisor of the NIA, Alexis Jeffers, said, “We are embarking on a massive expansion of the Vance W. Amory International Airport where we will see the expansion of the runway, a fuel farm, upgraded taxiways, an extended apron, terminal renovation, a fire station, and an upgraded control tower.”[caption id="attachment_69375" align="aligncenter" width="100%"]
Once completed, the airport will welcome a number of international airlines bringing hundreds of passengers to Nevis. After hearing the proposed plan, several citizens and residents also took to Facebook to appreciate the NIA for investing in the island.
“Honourable Mark Brantley, I want to congratulate you on doing such an outstanding job. You not only talk the talk, but you definitely walk the walk. For all who criticize, the proof is already in the pudding,” wrote a user named Noel Daniel.
Another user said, “Hon. Mr. Mark Brantley, thank you for plugging the holes in the boat so Nevis can be floating once again. You are exploring every possibility and opportunity there is to keep our economy going. Thank you, Sir Brantley and the Nevis Tourist Board.”
