Man gunned down in Trinidad, marking 3rd homicide of June 2024
The police reported that this was the 3rd murder which took place in the South Western Division of Trinidad for the month so far and just on Sunday, June 2, 74-year-old Henry Mungal was found stabbed and burnt to death at his residence in John Road Extension, Fyzabad.

Trinidad and Tobago: A man was gunned down in Palo Seco, Trinidad on Monday, June 3, 2024. The deceased has been identified as Jevuan Billy also known as Rankin, aged 33, said the police.
According to the information, the victim was a resident of SS Erin Road, Palo Seco and around 9:15 pm on Monday, he was liming with a friend named Sugar at Station 22 Bar located at the corner of Los Charos Road and Main Road Palo Seco, when a white coloured Nissan Tiida registered PDD 6252 pulled up near him.
From the vehicle, an armed man excited and fired many shots at Billy who then ran off but collapsed just a few miles away from the crime scene. The gunman ran after him and shot Billy many times about the body before re-entering his car and fleeing the scene.
The residents of the area heard loud explosives and upon checking they found the victim lying in a pool blood following which they notified the police and the first responders W/A/Cpl Vincent and PC Mohit responded and found Billy’s lifeless body on the roadway.
The officer called a district medical officer to the crime scene who viewed the body and pronounced him dead. The body was then ordered to be removed from the scene and taken to the Forensic Science Centre in St James, where it is awaiting a post mortem.

Also on June 1, 21-year-old Dennis Jugoon aka Fats of Lezama Trace, St John’s, South Oropouche was gunned down outside his home.
The three homicides within the first five days of June has sparked a public outcry with citizens calling upon the government to take some actions as they stay quiet and watch the events unfolding in front of their eyes.
